Organize a “Celebration of Life” for the Rock and Roll Legend
What We Did
Boxcar is proud to have worked with the Berry family to plan and produce the funeral services for Rock and Roll legend Mr. Chuck Berry. Chuck Berry was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. With songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958), Berry was a major influence on subsequent rock music.
Boxcar organized and executed the entire Celebration of Life, from organizing seating charts, creating music and pictured slideshows, planning décor and the run of show for the event. Notable celebrities sent their condolences from all over the world, including Gene Simmons who spoke during the event.
The entire Boxcar staff orchestrated a weekend honoring the legend in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. The Boxcar graphics team created beautiful invitations sent to guests across the world, along with posters and programs used throughout the events. There were multiple events during the weekend Boxcar staff organized and executed leading to Mr. Berry’s final resting place. Boxcar worked closely with Joe Edwards, owner of the Iconic Blueberry Hill, and the Berry Album Recording studio representatives to produce a Toast and Jam fest the first night with talented artist, Nathaniel Ratcliffe and Billy Peek.
It was a tremendous honor and experience. Rest in Peace Chuck Berry.
