The Challenge: Introduce and drive ticket sales for the world's first LGBTQ+ bourbon festival, offering 40-plus events throughout the state that showcases Kentucky's rich bourbon and hospitality culture to LGBTQ+ visitors.

Our Approach:

Boxcar partnered with the nonprofit Queer Kentucky and eight tourism bureaus across the state to develop a paid social strategy targeting LGBTQ+ travelers. The goal was to promote Bourbon & Belonging events celebrating inclusivity and bourbon while encouraging travel to Kentucky.

Our team created engaging organic content, including event countdowns, calendars, low-ticket alerts, partner spotlights, and travel tips. We also managed community engagement by monitoring comments, collaborating with influencers, and tagging relevant accounts. During the event itself, we provided real-time updates and coverage for attendees.

The campaign successfully expanded Bourbon & Belonging’s reach, driving significant engagement across social media platforms and played a key role in directing traffic to the event’s website. Social media efforts helped amplify awareness, connect with the LGBTQ+ community, and generate excitement leading up to and during the event.
