An Encyclopedia You'll Never Forget

Today, on the the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, citizens worldwide pay homage to those who died on that tragic day and in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan following the attacks. In the past eleven years, a lot has changed about our society and the way we absorb information via a 24/7 news cycle. New York Magazine created a “9/11 Encyclopedia” to capture some of the words and events that have entered our lexicon following 9/11.

“The alphabetized jumble of an encyclopedia, with its preposterous aspiration to describe whole cultures and continents and bodies of knowledge in a single placeโ€”that, we thought, might be an interesting way to take in the multiplicity of 9/11โ€™s effects.”
