What's on your iPhone?

On July 24, 2012, Apple Inc. held its Q3 earnings call that underwhelmed financial analysts. However, the call reported incredible figures for the company’s marketplace dominance. In the last quarter the company sold 26 million iPhones and 17 million iPads and its App Store hitting the 650,000 app mark. You’d have to spend days filtering through this massive amount of apps! Today we took a survey of the BoxcarPR staff to see the top 5 apps on our iPhones. Given that we’re all social media junkies we use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on nearly all of our phones. Outside of these iPhone staples, here are a few apps we can’t live without:

Fab– Our graphics designer Ann turns to the Fab app to shop for fashion, art, home décor, and jewelry. With nearly 5 million customers, Fab has taken the e-commerce world by storm.

Mashable– As BoxcarPR’s graphics guru, Kelly enjoys the Mashable app that provides digital culture, social media, and design news from around the world.

NBC Olympics– The NBC Olympics app lets Bob keep track on Team USA as they compete in London for the 2012 Summer Games. The app’s sleek interface shows you medal counts, photos, video, and tv listings.

On the Fly– The avid traveler, Lynsey relies on On the Fly to shop for airfares. The app organizes flights and fares so that users can map out the best route for their budget. Users love that the app offers multi-airline trip planning and airport changes. And for the environmentally conscious, On the Fly tells you the carbon emissions for each trip.

Viggle– Our resident TV junkie Danielle is now profiting from her addiction with the Viggle app. Turn on your favorite show and then activate the Viggle app on your phone. The app automatically identifies what you’re watching so that you can “check-in” to the show. The more check-ins, the more points that you can redeem for movie tickets, gift cards, and other rewards.

Waze– One advantage Android has over the iPhone is a talking GPS feature within Google Maps. However, Waze is a free app that provides turn-by-turn voice navigation. The app utilizes user-generated reports on traffic delays, construction, and hazards to make your ride safer and quicker. Users earn points and move up in rank the more they use the app.
