Watch What You Tweet

Social media is a quick and inexpensive way to spread the word about your brand. At BoxcarPR we develop social media strategies for our wide range of clients. If a client is brand new to social media, we’ll set them up with Facebook and Twitter accounts and train them on the type of content to post and when to post it.

But social media is also an easy way to get in trouble for offensive or obscene speech. In the blink of an eye, content is shared worldwide and the “delete” button is worthless. That’s why the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky are starting to monitor the Twitter accounts of their student athletes. Players can post whatever they like but if they use one of the 400+ flagged words, their coach is immediately alerted.
